Available Collies - Updated June 19, 2009: Fees for adoption:
2 years and under  - $225.                Less than 6 years - $200.
Between 6-7 years - $175.                8 years and older - $100.(negotiable)

NOTES:

To adopt a Collie from the Rescue League you must fill out and submit an Adoption Application and have a home visit done by the League.
To obtain the application please look in the side bar (table of contents) under 'Applications and Forms'

Collies are Herding Dogs - they love to chase and run. We STRONGLY recommend a fenced-in yard for all of our dogs. The dogs that have it specifically written in their write-up means that a fenced-in enclosure is MANDATORY.

SHADOW: This young man is aptly named, SHADOW, as he loves to follow his people around. He is a happy, healthy and VERY energetic. Enjoys the company of other dogs, and gets along with the cats in his foster home.

Shadow has a strong herding instinct and will chase a fast-moving cat, child or vehicle, if given the chance. A fenced in yard is STRONGLY suggested.

Exercise and training should be a top priority for him. He's eager to please, would likely be a good agility candidate. He'll jump a baby-gate if he's interested on what's on the other side!

A diamond in the 'rough', Shadow needs a dedicated family that will provide him with the guidance and training he so deserves. Because of his youth and energy level, a sedentary life would not be in his best interest. Suitable ages of children for Shadow would be 10+.

ABE Updated photo and write-up: Abe can be described as a rambunctious seven year old with no qualms about getting his feet muddy and terrorizing any bird who dares to light on the grass. He needs a good gallop everyday to burn the energy.

He would be good with older children but not with little ones. He can get excited and nippy and could easily be to much for a child. He is a go everywhere do anything dog and his foster home enjoys having him around. He is a demand barker and will chase anything that will give him a good run.

Because of his allergies and thyroiditis, his new family will need to maintain his diet restrictions and medications-THIS IS A MUST.
