3 Years Old
Sable and white/Female

SABLE - Adopted!

Sable is a SHADOW and loves to follow her foster family around the house or is content and happy lying nearby.  If any family member leaves the house Sable becomes upset and will bark and run around for a few minutes before lying down  with a defeated sigh.    She needs a family that will continue to work with her on this while she transitions into her new home.  She would be most happy in a family that is home more often than not.

Sable LOVES older children and that is a home she is looking for.   She's happy to play outside or lie beside a child while he reads her a nightly story.  She enjoys walks, other dogs, and rides in the car.  Sable is completely housebroken. She knows basic commands and is very smart so will do well with someone willing to take time to teach her and give her direction.

Sable is a very sweet and friendly girl and is wonderful company.

**  On March 25th, after only 4 days in her foster home, Sable experienced a seizure.  Sable was taken to Tufts medical center for evaluation.  She has no known history of seizures and further medical blood testing did not show any medical reason why this occurred.  We hope that this is an isolated incident but it is premature to come to that conclusion and she is being watched carefully.

NEVARR

Nevarr is a loyal boy who loves to play with his people.  He has completed level one of obedience and had lots of fun.  He is crate trained.  He loves children - probably children over 8y/o would be best because of his excitement!  He gets along well with other dogs and nicely puts up with cats!!
Nevarr tested positive for Lyme disease but shows no symptoms.
He also has strong separation anxiety, is on a long term tranquilizer and needs to follow a strict program to help him get over this in his new home. For further information please contact his foster mom at 802-222-4712 for more information or to ask questions!!!

It would be helpful if you have already been approved and are seriously interested in committing time to work with Nevarr.  He will make someone a fine boy!

ALGERNON

What a handsome gentleman 'Big Al' is!  He is a tall and stately collie.   His coat is still a work in progress, due to a shorter than normal haircut some time ago.

Algernon is a confident male collie who will need a family that has had experience with dogs.  He knows all the basic commands.  His new owner must be comfortable with being firm (yet loving) and following through with commands.

He has tested positive for Lyme, but has been treated and presently has no symptoms.  His new owner would need to be aware of the signs of Lyme disease.  (Note: Go to Collie College page for article on Lyme Disease)

Algernon chases cars, trucks, motorcycles and bicycles.  His medical history proves his great desire for chasing, as he was hit by an automobile resulting in a fractured left front leg.  He is all healed but a fenced in yard is MANDATORY.   Cats and small animals, small dogs and small farm animals are not for Algernon!  Because of his size a home with small children will not be suitable-respectful children over the age of 10, please.

Riding in the car is a joy for Algernon.  He loves men, woman and older children.  He tolerates grooming, is a garbage inspector and counter-surfer!  Exercise is a MUST for this collie.  He loves to play fetch and will play with larger dogs, under supervision.   Algernon enjoys his foster family and soaks up all the love he can get.  A family that is willing to have an active, handsome and confident collie should consider 'Big Al'.

ROSIE - Adopted!

Miss Rosie has had an interesting past and a 'rosy' looking future!  She spent the majority of the last few years in a boarding kennel, as her owner traveled most of the time.  Because of this, she hasn't been socialized as well as she should.

When Rosie first came to her foster home, she did not get along with the other dogs that live there.  But over time and with patience and training, she has settled in nicely.  She will need a family that will be able to handle a possible "break-in period" until she adjusts to her new home.   A family with another VERY laid- back male dog might be considered.

Rosie LOVES attention, loves to be snuggled, petted...you name it!  She'll take as much as you can give but she isn't pushy about it.  She is learning how to play and run.  Because she had been in a kennel for the most part of her life, a home where she has plenty of room to run would be ideal.  She needs a person who can walk and run with her and be active outside with her.

Riding in the car is something Rosie is not fond of.  Her foster mom is working on helping Rosie overcome her fear.   She likes both men and women and older children (age 10+).  Not sure if she likes cats, but tolerates the small farm animals at her foster home.  Rosie was an angel while being groomed.  Because of her beautiful white coat, regular grooming is a must!

Male/Sable

EL CID - Adopted!!

El Cid is an affectionate collie with a sunny disposition and a golden coat.  Cid came into CRLNE after a death in his family. He has adjusted well to his foster home as demonstrated by his constantly wagging tail.

Cid is a very friendly collie who loves not just his people, but also strangers, other dogs and cats.  Cid is believed to be just seven years old, although he could be a little younger.  Of average size for his breed, Cid runs gracefully around the yard playing with both human and canine visitors.  Both inside and out, Cid's barking is not excessive.

Cid is completely housebroken.  He enjoys car rides, going into strange places to meet new people, and going for walks.  Although Cid knows only a few obedience commands, his manners on lead are excellent.  By far, Cid's very favorite activity is napping on the sofa while his person reads, watches TV, talks on the phone, etc.  This is an experienced couch dog who wants plenty of snuggle time next to his person.  A little clingy, Cid follows his people from room to room.  However, he will sleep through the night in a room by himself.

Cid's coat color is called "pure for sable."  He is medium gold in color.  Cid tolerates both bathing and grooming by his fosterer.  A minor skin problem recently resolved, Cid's adopter should expect to monitor his skin and be prepared to keep the skin on his back very clean.

Cid would be an excellent family pet and companion for people with children of middle school age or older.

EMMA - Adoption Pending!!!

Emma has grown into a sweet young lady and is a very active and energetic collie.  Folks that are interested in obedience/rally/agility couldn't find a more willing subject. She would do best in a home that has another playful dog to give her the exercise and playtime needed.  Emma loves the other dogs at her foster family.

Exercise and activities for Emma is a MUST HAVE.  Also included on the MUST HAVE list is a fence over 5 feet; and she is happily crate-trained which should continue in her new home.  Emma LOVES her crate for night time and SHORT periods during the day.

Emma lives with other dogs, cats, and farm animals.  She gets along fine with them all, but mostly loves her dog family!  A family that has gentle, respectful children would be a wonderful match for Emma.  She is still a young dog and her new family would need to be ready for an adventure of training, exercise and fun.
