Emma Update - April 11, 2007
Oh..... what good food, good care and lotsa lovin' can do! As the new photo shows, Emma is becoming a 'big girl' and looking more and more like an old-fashioned 'farm' collie. She is now able to move and play without being in a restricted area. Emma still has to get the final 'you are dismissed' from the doctor, but her picture tells you her recovery has been great!
We are all so happy that Emma came through her ordeal with flying colors. We are especially thankful to her foster mom (and her extended family) for all that you're doing for Emma.
And to everyone who keeps 'checking' in, we'll keep updating!
Respectfully,

Emma Update - March 11, 2007
Emma's next checkup is on March 19th and her progress will reported soon after. As you can see from her latest picture, she is growing and enjoying life, thanks to all of you.

Financial News - February 27, 2007
It is with great joy and happiness we announce our financial goal for Emma's surgery has been met! Thank you again to all who donated!
Collie people are the best!!!
Donations are always welcome, but will be designated to our general fund.
Watch for further news of her recovery progress.
Update #2 - February 22, 2007
Emma's recheck appointment on Feb. 14th was cancelled due to the snowstorm. Her next recheck will be next week. We've updated her picture, which includes one of her 'therapists' who help her foster mom with range of motion exercises.
Emma has had her stitches out, and is now without her 'lampshade', which by the way makes her very happy! She is using her leg more and more each day. Her foster mom says she is very active and it's hard to keep her quiet.
I want to thank EVERYONE for your calls and emails asking about Emma! And lastly, but certainly not least - many, many THANK YOU!’s are sent to all who have donated. The response has been outstanding.
Keep checking our website for the next Emma update!
Respectfully,
Diane Mancini

Update #1 - February 5, 2007
I had the pleasure of oohing and aaahing over Emma this past weekend. The surgery went even better than we had hoped and she is recovering very nicely. She, of course, is not too happy with the 'lampshade', but we all have to do things we don't like now and again! Emma is on restricted activity, which is not an easy job, as Miss Emma wants to gooooooooo! Her incision looks healthy, pink and no sign of infection. Gentle physical therapy has been started so as to keep the joint from 'freezing'. Emma appears to have gained some weight, gotten a bit taller and her coat is looking much better. Her recheck is scheduled for Feb.14th. I will update everyone sometime after that!
To all of you who have so generously sent in donations here is a big THANK YOU! Emma is worth every penny.
Respectfully,

EMMA'S STORY

This sweet 4-month old tri smooth collie pup was relinquished to us this month. She is a precocious lovable girl! Little Miss Emma has had a rough go of it lately. Sometime over the past 4 weeks her left elbow was severely injured, resulting in a fracture/dislocation. It was never properly attended to, so now surgery is needed. This surgery will be quite involved, including resetting of the leg, insertion of pins, screws and a realignment of the elbow. Needless to say, this will be costly.
We are gently asking for donations to help in the cost of Emma's delicate surgery. The cost has been estimated at $2,000.00 to $2,700.00. If you would like to help, please go to Donations on our Homepage, use the Paypal link or mail your donation payable to CRLNE to:

Please be sure to indicate that your donation is for EMMA.
Emma will be heading to the operating room this week. I will keep you up to date on her progress! Thanking all of you in advance,
