Success Stories

LOGAN

Logan%20story%203%20540.jpg

This is another Collie Rescue League success story - pictures of Logan included. His undercoat is in; he's eating regular food now and is doing wonderful.

He loves his early morning walk around the neighborhood and is really cute when he sees someone else walking - he starts prancing and is very curious, he's always sweet when he is meeting other dogs or puppies.

He has adjusted very well to going to the office daily and then is always ready for an evening run in our neighbor’s 6 acre field.  He also enjoys sitting and looking in our neighbor’s bunny hutch.

Included is a picture of the bibs, (which Logan was fond of eating!); in fact you can see from the current pictures they are still on the line, and the dog house you see in the picture was our late collie-Tuckers, hardly ever used, someone donated it to us when we moved in. Logan looks in it, trying to scare the cat that occasionally resides there.

We love our Logan and can't thank you enough for helping us make the connection. We look forward to next year’s picnic so that we can meet everyone.  Again, thank you for all you do.

RONAN & NICKEY

    Better late than never.....

This Christmas success story begins with twin sisters looking for a collie to complete their family.  They are active women, gainfully employed and absolutely love collies.

Upon completion of the adoption application and home visit, CRLNE matched

    Ronan

with them.  All is wonderful!  Ronan fit right in and became a member of their family.  Well, feeling that Ronan needed a 'brother or sister', CRLNE was contacted and

    Nickey

joined the family.  Christmas approached and CRLNE received a wonderful card from the sisters.  Here is what they had to say:

"Hope all is well with you.  Our boys couldn't be better!  Ronan is becoming a 'princess' and Nick is as silly as ever-life is never boring! - but we wouldn't have it any other way.  Did you check out the 2008 calendar? Nick has gained about 30 lbs and his coat is amazing!  Ronan always was a movie star.  Both are enjoying their first snow of the season but insist on being dried off as soon as they come in.

We all went to cut down our Christmas tree yesterday and Ronan picked out the perfect tree; in his own "special" way as he did last year!!!!  Nick left a special bundle under the tree...you never saw two middle aged ladies pay for a tree so fast and take off up the hill.  Who knew we were so athletic!!!

Our best wishes and prayers for a blessed Christmas and New Year."

And so ends the story of Ronan and Nickey at Christmas.

PAL & PRINCE

What can I say about Pal, he is one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL collies I ever saw.  One day, a couple of friends of ours showed up for a visit.  They had a very special friend with them.  I wasn't quite sure what they were up to, until they let him loose in my back yard.  He was a sight, my heart was melting.  When he came in the house and ran to the top of the stairs, I knew he was ours!!  He looked magnificent sitting up there staring down at us.  We named him Pal after the original Lassie!!

Then there is Prince.  We received a call there was a collie in trouble and had only five days left.  We decided to take Pal and go for a ride to the shelter were Prince was.  I wasn't sure they would get along considering the write up on Prince.  When we got there, Prince was very malnourished, you could see his ribs.  He was lifting his leg on EVERYTHING!  We brought the boys outside to play and they were a little rough which I'm not used to.  Along the way home we stopped at a friend's house and found out just how much Prince didn't like men!!!!  We worked with him a lot and he has turned out just fine.  As for that man, when he visits, Prince is attached at the hip!!  Prince had bad beginning to his life and we just had to figure out what set him off and help correct it.  We have since found out that Prince has seizures.  He is on medication and is doing fine.
